2008 Writing Contest Rules

How to Enter:

1. Fill out an official entry form with each entry you send in. Entries without an entry form cannot be considered.
2. Your entry must be dropped off at either the Trenton or Frankford Branch of the library by August 1st., 2008.
3. Please do not fax, or send your entry by regular or electronic mail.

What You Can Enter:

1. Your entry MUST be original.
2. Your entry may be in English or French.
3. Your entry may be a short story or even a poem, but it must begin with the phrase "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Library".
4. You can send in more than one entry; but you can receive only one prize.
5. Your entry must be typed or handwritten very clearly, double-spaced, on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper. Your entry MUST be only one page.

Who Can Enter:

1. This contest is open to boys and girls ages 7-14 living in Quinte West.
2. Only the author may submit an entry

How Entries are Judged:

1. A panel of judges will judge the entries. Each entry will be judged on its content, originality, style and effort.
2. Prizes will be awarded for the best stories or poems by 7-10 year olds, and by 11-14 year olds.
